Podcasts I Listen To!

podcasting-50

radion-tRadio-T

A weekly hi-tech podcast. The hosts and invited guests improvise on computer-related topics. As a rule, they don’t get too deep into the weeds, though sometimes they get carried away…

I listen in the background; I stopped enjoying it a long time ago. The longer they drag the podcast out, the less I feel like listening. So I mostly keep it on in the background, but sometimes there are really interesting topics and even entire episodes, such as Radio-T #114 (a guest talking about various IDEs).

ava\_ava\_1224808288Za Cool Zhizn (About the Cool Life)

A podcast about everything going on around us. A view from America.

Budam shares his software development experience and tells interesting stories. I always enjoy listening to him! Admittedly, his accent put me off at first… But if you get past that, there’s a lot of interesting stuff to hear!

ava\_ava\_1166035039Umputun’s Weekly Podcast

True stories from Umputun’s life in Chicago (and beyond), assorted reflections and observations, a little computer talk, just a tiny bit of politics, and sometimes a little humor.

Uncle Umputun shares stories, experience, and news from IT, Chicago, and his family. I enjoy listening to him just as much as I do Budam!

podshtuchkiPodShtuchki

The podcast is based on an already well-known blog about various modern internet services and startups—Internetnye Shtuchki (Internet Tidbits).

News from the IT world. Short and clear, everything new from the past week. It came out regularly, then stopped after New Year’s… probably a hangover :D

art\_of\_programmingThe Art Of Programming

Podcasts about OOP, patterns, etc. (for students).

They mostly talk about the very basics. I listen, but I don’t particularly like it. I keep hoping for some kind of insight, but it’s mostly the same old stuff. They position themselves correctly as being “for students.”

There also used to be a pretty good podcast called Radio-U, which was later renamed Dvicecast, but now it seems to have died out altogether.
