Yandex.Fotki — a WordPress plugin
I finally decided to package my function for parsing thumbnails from Yandex.Fotki as a plugin. Why do I need thumbnails? Just to display them in the sidebar—I like them :-)
Since I couldn’t find anything online, Google didn’t help me, and there wasn’t anything in the WordPress repository either, I decided to write it myself.
Version 1.0 includes:
- An admin panel where you can specify a “username” and a “limit”;
- Parsing thumbnails of the most recently added photos (no more than 20).
It’s very easy to use. I insert this code into the sidebar:
<li>
<h2>Яндекс.Фотки</h2>
<ul class="yandexFotki">
< ?php yandexFotki(); ?>
</ul>
</li>
Planned for future versions:
- Caching with Wp-SuperCache;
- Links to the photos;
- The ability to display more than 20 thumbnails;
- The ability to specify an album;
- A widget version;
- I’ll add the plugin to the WordPress repository;
- The ability to resize thumbnails.
