Ringtones for Geeks!

I stumbled across the post Ringtones for Geeks on Radio-U and decided to tweak the collection (adding and removing a few entries) and post my own version. Here’s what I came up with:
Battle City (Tanks on the Dendy). Remember the sound before each new level? Here you go! battlecity.mp3
Super Mario Brothers (Mario Brothers on the Dendy). A simple tune that brings a smile to your face! supermariobros.mp3
Dial-up. Incomparable, sometimes provoking fits of rage, sometimes lofty hopes and dreams. The sound of a modem trying to force its way onto the internet over dial-up! Two whole versions: the first from Radio-U, the second my version—I don’t remember where I got it. dialupsound-1.mp3 and dialupsound-2.mp3
Spectrum Mix. A remix of sounds from the immortal game console. Sounds impressive! spectrumsong.mp3
Windows 95 Welcome Mix and Windows XP Welcome. What else is there to add… win95-welcome-mix.mp3 and winxp-welcome.mp3
Mac OS X Panther. Music from the welcome video you see after installing Mac OS X Panther. A slow, relaxing tune. macos-panther.mp3
Mac OS X Tiger. Well, what can you do when Apple comes up with such great soundtracks for its OS intros? The welcome sound from Tiger. A soothing tune. macos-tiger.mp3
Intel. The global giant’s sound that everyone knows! intel.mp3
The Imperial March from “Star Wars”—a classic, but we all love it anyway! emperialmarch.mp3
Mortal Kombat. Doesn’t quite fit the theme, but I really wanted to add it to the collection! mortalkombat.mp3
Futurama. A very popular animated series in the CIS. Once again, it’s the opening theme. Note: the tune on Radio-U was terrible quality, so I replaced it with my own versions: the first is a cut-down version, and the second is the full version. futurama-song.mp3 and futurama-full.mp3
The Simpsons. I’m counting on my readers to figure it out, so I won’t even say exactly where the next file comes from. simpsons.mp3
South Park. Doesn’t sound the best on a mobile—lots of words—but it’s recognizable! southpark.mp3
The IT Crowd—if you haven’t seen the series, go catch up on what you’ve missed while you still have the chance. And the ringtone, of course—it sounds great when your phone rings; I used it for four months. An aggressive, energetic tune. theitcrowd.mp3
Google Behind The Screen Song. The opening tune from the film Google Behind The Screen (behind the scenes at Google). A cheerful ska-punk tune, very much in Google’s spirit. google.mp3
Orbital Hackers Theme. The opening tune from the film Hackers. hackerstheme.mp3
The complete ringtone archive is available at: /files/ringtones/ringtones.zip (35 MB).
For editing audio tracks, I recommend the free program Audacity.
